[ She shrugs. ] If he knows and likes the people enough he'd be okay with it. I bet he'd be fine with dinner, especially if you guys just came over to our place.

[ A half smile. ] I don't think we've been by your place yet.

Nope, I don't think you have. [ She smiled back. ] I could make dinner sometime. I'm not great but it's edible.

[ A laugh. ] I'm sure it's good. Besides, there's always hot sauce.

I can hope that it wouldn't be bad enough that you'd have to pour hot sauce over it to cover it up.

You've been there to listen and understand with me too. It's the least I can do in return and I'm...happy to do it. [ She smiled. ] It's not something I expect anywhere anymore. Plus it's nice to have someone that gets certain things to talk to. It's strange but sometimes I feel like I don't belong here.

You too, huh? [ He shook his head. ] I think we all feel like that sometimes, don't we? It's... I don't know, it's something unique to being out of our world.

Especially when we're stuck so far back, you know?

[ She nodded. ] Yeah, me too. It's definitely harder when we're this far back. There are so many people here from this time period from really...normal worlds. It's strange to talk to them.

You've got that right. Some of them are from even further behind this. It's... I don't know what to make of it.

I really don't want to imagine how they made do like that, either.

[ She chuckles. ] Neither do I. This is bad enough as it is. Any further and [ she shakes her head. ] we're lucky it's not any further.

Jeeze, don't remind me. [ He laughed, and looked around. ] Imagine if this was some...cheesy tavern out of a bad fantasy vid.

[ She shook her head. ] No, I'd rather not. I mean can you imagine how we'd have to dress? [ Someday they'll find out ren fairs are a thing. ]

God, this is bad enough. I miss the type of things we wore back home. This stuff is practically unwearable.

[ The fabrics, the underthings, everything. He made a face. ]

Maybe we're just spoiled.

[ She laughs. ] Your clothing wasn't like this?

No! [ He laughed. ]

It's a lot more...synthesized. The cuts are different, the...everything is different. I think...lounge clothes are about the same, but that's it.

Very, actually. I like them.
